Courtney Williams is about to turn 14, and she has been a
member of the 4-H Dog Project since she was 8 years old. Since the beginning
she has shown a natural talent for training dogs. Her hard work and dedication
have really paid off in the 4-H Show rings, and she is now very accomplished in
Showmanship, Obedience Agility and Rally. Courtney has recently branched out
from 4-H shows and is also competing in AKC Junior Showmanship and Conformation
classes. She won her age division enough times in the Novice classes, and
quickly moved into Open Intermediate Junior Showmanship. While that division
has some really tough competition, Courtney has proven she can hold her own and
compete at a very high level.
Courtney has begun sharing her knowledge
with other 4-H members by assisting the 4-H Leaders during training classes.

She is also mentoring other 4-H'ers in Showmanship and
Agility. Courtney even shares one of her own dogs with one of her young
proteges 4-H member Ashlynn Klatt who has also recently begun showing and
winning in AKC Junior Showmanship classes. |
As in allot of success
stories, Courtney receives allot of support from her family. Her parents not
only drive her to 4-H classes but also to additional dog training classes with
Ileana Nadal. |

Courtney's parents David and Donna Williams are always
the first ones to volunteer to work at all the 4-H dog shows and fundraising
events. Her brother Corey is now training and showing dogs, and Courtney's
older sister Stephanie and her Aunt Kathy also pitch in and drive her to
classes and work at 4-H events.
The entire Williams family
are a great example of the backbone of the 4-H Dog Project. They support their
children's activities and take an active role in making the 4-H shows and
events successful, and that benefits all Florida 4-H Dog Project
members.
We are expecting great things from Courtney as she has quite a
few years still left to participate with the 4-H Dog Project. With her talent,
drive and attention to detail she will go far in life, and is a great role
model for other young 4-H'ers
